Walking Saffron at Town Lake

We had originally thought we'd go to the natural springs to go swimming, but the weather wasn't always in our favor. It rained a good portion of the trip, so Austin was nice and cool for walking...not so great for swimming. Crystal and I took her dog Saffron (Saffie) on a nice long walk Sunday afternoon. She enjoyed the many smells along the pathway, especially the dead leaves. At one point we took a short break for Saffie to relax. In case you were curious, Saffie's a dachshund mix with possibly some terrier. She's a sweet little girl. One thing's for sure, she loves her mommy, Crystal! Anyway, behind us you can see Town Lake and downtown. As you can see, this is a great place for canoeing and turtle-watching. I was actually impressed with all the active people I saw. So many people were out running/walking/canoeing/kayaking/swimming. Who would of thought Austin would be one of the most fit cities in the nation?
